Due to our band covering genres such as pop and dance i have attempted to adapt this into these similar conventions. For the magazine poster I have selected black as the background in order to allow everything to stand out, highlighting and drawing attention to the white text. However because we are wearing black I have added a gold glow around the edge to allow us to stand out. The use of golds and silvers have been selected to add importance and suggest where we are planning to reach in the future 'the top', as we point up. The colours in the background connote the colours we are associated with in other similar design ideas which express and exploit our personalities. I selected this image as it shows us physically pointing up and fitted well, as if we are directly suggesting to the audience to look up and read/buy our album, as well as this it promotes us as fun. As for the album name and artist name I thought they were equally as significant and important as each other, and have therefore situated the 'Chic' band name and 'Closure' text specifically. The chic is at the top because I had to take into consideration that we are a new emerging girl band therefore we want our name to be well known, the album is just as important and has been placed under but larger to allow it to have equally as much importance because it is not at the top. The white text is simple and bold in order to stand out against the black background, I wanted it to be very simple as people would only usually glance at posters like this and do not usually take time to read text with lots of detail. The luminous glow of colours in the background make it appear clubby which I hope is successful in promoting dance features and a subtle edge of night life.
I think I could have improved this further by taking more time on the text, making the white even more bold than it was, I found photoshop very challenging. I could have also made the picture larger to fill the bottom to prevent us from appearing lost in the poster.
You have made a start in explaining some of the choices and decisions that you made while creating your magazine advert. You have considered some of your chnages too, but you need to include further points on the conntations of the colours and the design and layout and also how it will appeal to your audience.
