Photoshoot Analysis

We decided to have a photo shoot as this allowed us to portray ourselves as a girl band, we wanted to express our fun, care free characteristics which would reveal our positive attitude which our audience and teenage girls could warm to and admire.
These pictures were appropriate in allowing us to complete magazine/posters as we are promoting ourself we want to have a clear picture which the audience will realise and remember as 'chic', emerging and establishing artists always have pictures to promote themselves, this is also what their fans want to see as they are looked up to and admired.
We decided to wear black skater dresses, two of us wore tights and the other two didn't so we were matching. The black skater dresses allowed us to stand out against any background we were put against, it also prevents distractions, the audience are more likely to observe who we are then be focused on what we are wearing, this can have advantages and disadvantages. If we wore unusual outfits it could attract and intrigue people making us stand out and increasingly memorable. However the colour back allowed us to appear serious at the same time as just simply expressing our emotions through facial features.

How the photoshoot will benefit/help us in the future
These picture will later enable us to produce and complete our album covers and magazine posters as artists always have images of themselves to further promote and familiarise an audience which may appear unfamiliar when first starting off. This also appeals to the conventions of a pop genre specifically as an audiences expectations would be to see photoshoots and images of the artists they admire. The photoshoot was helpful in allowing us to portray further emotions and personalities which are important as this cannot be simply portrayed through just colours and font.

  1. You have made a start in explaining why you carried out a photoshoot. Also include evidence of how you used the photos within photoshop, to create your digipak/magazine advert
